Incredible experience because calling it a dinner doesn’t make it justice, chef Yuuki and his colleagues are truly masters of their craft, the ability to use such simple ingredients, all from his hometown and region, and creating such dishes it’s incredible. It’s been a few months and we still think about this meal.. it was an incredible experience, from the food to the service. Unforgettable and not to miss! Cannot wait to return when we go back to Japan.

I know that Ise Sueyoshi offers a more traditional meat option--but I picked it because I was crossing my fingers for a vegetarian splurge worth the $$$. As a vegetarian, I ate a lot of good food in Japan, but only a few meals really stand out as excellent or special. Of those, the kaiseki at Ise Su...eyoshi was not only the best--it was even better than I'd hoped it would be. I got the vegan kaiseki with the sake pairing--almost too much sake, honestly, but it was delicious--and every course was gorgeously presented, tons of variety--every dish was unique from the others on the menu & generally, from anything else I'd eaten in Japan--and interesting to experience because of the way it showcased a flavor or a texture or a preparation. A few times, the dishes showcased an ingredient I don't normally enjoy (two memorable cases were seaweed and mushrooms), but I ended up loving every bite. Something about the way these dishes were prepared made me think, "Oh, I get why this ingredient is great, I really get it," which is maybe one of the neatest food experiences I've ever had in my life. Anyway, it's a small restaurant and the chef was so personable and the food was so good. What a great memory.

The dining experience here was amazing! Each dish was delicious and came with a detailed explanation of the origin of its ingredients. Chef Yuuki Tanaka and his team were wonderful! Their hospitality made this a very memorable experience for our group and we will definitely be back! We highly recomm...end dining here if you get the chance!
