R1 TOKYO Bar＆Restaurant

I had the Halal Course for dinner at R1 TOKYO in Roppongi and really enjoyed the whole experience. One of the things I liked most was being able to enjoy authentic halal food in such a stylish and sophisticated setting. The restaurant is spread over two floors and has a very modern Roppongi atmosph...ere, so it offers a different side of Tokyo from the more traditional Japanese restaurants. The ¥6,600 course was generous and very satisfying, and I felt it offered good value for the quality and amount of food. We started with the Harira soup. It had a gentle, comforting flavor, but with beans, meat and pasta inside, it was also surprisingly filling. The Arabic green salad that followed was fresh and provided a nice break before the richer dishes. The hummus with pita bread was another highlight. The pita was crispy on the outside and soft inside, and the hummus had a rich, authentic flavor that reminded me of food I have had in the Middle East. I also really enjoyed the fried falafel. The sesame added a nice accent, and although it was satisfying, it was light enough that I finished it very quickly. For the main course, I chose the Lamb Bel Ajeen. It reminded me of an Arabic-style pizza, with flavorful lamb served inside freshly baked bread. The lamb had none of the strong gamey smell that some people may associate with it, so it was very easy to enjoy. The bread itself was especially delicious — soft, fragrant and full of flavor — and it worked perfectly with the lamb. Even as a Japanese diner, I found this dish very approachable and enjoyable. For dessert, we had Baklava, one of the classic sweets of the Middle East. The combination of crisp pastry and sweetness was quite different from typical Japanese desserts and was a great way to finish the meal. Overall, I was impressed by how authentic the Middle Eastern flavors were, while still being easy to enjoy for someone who does not eat this style of food regularly. I would highly recommend R1 TOKYO to Muslim travelers looking for halal dining in Tokyo, as well as anyone staying in Roppongi who wants to try something different from Japanese cuisine. Great food, a stylish atmosphere, and a very memorable dinner experience.

Great ambience, lovely food and real cocktails! Such a classy bar on the first floor, and just 2 minutes walk between Roppongi station and Roppongi Hills! The entrance is at the street behind Shake Shack. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor. Salad portion was big and the meat was soooo soft. From 8...pm there's a DJ playing upbeat tunes so we moved back to the bar again. Easily spent 4 hours there without having to find another place for the 2nd party! Highly recommend!

I visited R1 TOKYO Bar & Restaurant located in Roppongi this time, so let me introduce it to you! Here's an overview of the interior: The first floor is a bar (with counter chairs). The second floor is a restaurant (with low tables and chairs). Depending on your mood, you can choose between lunch,... dinner, or just enjoy the bar. They also have terrace seating, so it's worth trying on a sunny day. Furthermore, they have a HAPPY HOUR (16:00 to 20:00)!! The service speed for food is excellent! On the first floor, there's a DJ booth, making it versatile for various purposes and highly recommended for private events. It's also conveniently close to Roppongi Hills and, most importantly, it's very close to the station! So we went to this restaurant the other day and let me tell you it was exquisite, when me and my partner was there for dinner, the chefs welcome bite made me excited! the next on the menu was carpaccio and grapefruit it was so fresh and so goodddd, the next dish was soup and let me tell you there se...asonal soup surprised me! It's better to see for yourself haha, and the next was carbonara pasta it was so creamy it was almost unbelievable and then for the fish it was boneless and savory OMG here's the best part the main dish! The meat was so tender it was like meltiing in my mouth it was so soft and the sauce with it makes it PERFECT, last but not the least the dessert, the flavor on it was light which was surprisingly pleasant with the tea it was just heavenly, the service was excellent, 10/10 overall we'd love to come back and visit again sometime! :
