Delicious Italian restaurant which was a welcome change after Japanese every night. We had the squid and broccoli as entree which was so good…………………………………………………………….:……………..! Then pasta as the main. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Ok Sushi in Tokyo is Great, the best, period. But in a long stay, after a long walk if you are need of some comfort food like Italian spaghetti al Dente is simply the best place in Tokyo. Recipes are not always “Italian” correct and menu translation are funny, but cooking of the pasta is “al den...te” perfect and overall taste is really good: It’s real Italian pasta, not the usual tourist trap, portions are from really generous to truck driver hungry. ( you can pick from 110g to 240g ! ) Drawbacks: place is small and not easy to find ( exit from N3-N4 towards Nishi-Shinjuku) , close really early at 21pm since it’s the typical after work dinner place. Be aware that , like in many place of Tokyo, smoking is allowed, but if you have pasta withdrawal symptoms, is the right place for you.

A Japanese take on Italian albeit the only real option is Pasta based so a little limited. You cannot reserve so need to queue up and it was very busy on our visit. Cheap and cheerful Italian wine and a buzzing atmosphere make for a fun evening but do not expect a gastronomic treat!

I have found some of the best Italian cuisine outside of Italy in Japan. This is NOT one of them. The arugula salad had no arugula in it and the greens were loaded with salt ....inedible! The chorizo pasta was not chorizo. It was the texture of a hot dog wiener. The bacon and broccoli pasta had... five tiny pieces of broccoli and a lot of under cooked bacon. The wine was ordinary. There are so many other choices in this city for reasonably priced and authentic Italian food.

Excellent Italian food in a cozy spot in Shinjuku. Good prices and good pasta dishes. Highly recommended
