This is honestly one of the worst Katsuya branches I’ve ever been to. The katsu was terrible the batter was so thick and heavy it felt like I was eating a block of greasy dough instead of meat. Completely disappointing. The ambience was awful. The place felt dirty, the toilet was disgusting, and th...ere were insects flying around. It was honestly shocking for a restaurant in a major tourist area like Asakusa. Service was a complete mess. The staff clearly couldn’t handle basic communication and didn’t understand simple Japanese, which made ordering frustrating. The register was chaotic, and instead of assisting customers, the staff were talking among themselves the whole time. It felt unprofessional and disrespectful. Overall, this branch is a disaster. Terrible food, terrible cleanliness, terrible service. I will never return and I strongly recommend avoiding this place.

The restaurant is rather ugly. Credit card payment was accepted, and service was fast. All in all, food was acceptable. The receipt, however, included an extra dish we had not ordered. The amount paid seemed strangely higher to us than expected, even regardless of the taxes. After pointing this out..., a lady at the counter smiled, apologized and we received a refund of the amount not due. Unfortunately, the doubt remains that this was an attempt to scam us as tourists. We will not return to this restaurant, and likely to the entire chain. It is advisable to check the bill thoroughly, possibly with the help of a translator (the receipt was entirely in Japanese).

Always go where you see local people enjoying freshly prepared food! Fancy this place is not, but the food is really good and the team behind the counter were amazingly friendly. Good honest food at really reasonable prices. Despite phrasebook Japanese & being solo, the warm welcome meant I felt ...really comfortable. Arigato zai mashita!

Fancied a quick and easy dinner - something simple and warming; and this hit the spot! Staff don’t speak English, but there is a picture menu for you to point and order. I had katsu curry and the curry was absolutely delicious - rich, buttery and spicy. My bf had the mixed katsu set with shrimp.... Portions are generous and service quick.

Arrived in Tokyo, Asakusa area a couple hours before supper ... checked into our hotel and was walking around when we decided to have supper. Many restaurants around are ramen shops, but we weren’t into ramen so kept looking and stumbled upon Katsuya. We were greeted warmly and were able to make o...ur orders with no issue as on the picture menu says “Order by pointing” Portions are big, but if you want can order bigger portions. Our order was fast and yummy. We left with full tummies!
