“Truly excellent haute cuisine”
Le Gentil Homme is a true haute cuisine experience. My wife and I were looking to have a release from our usual cheap and cheerful travel fare. This hatted chef and his restaurant certainly exceeded our expectations. We had the Menu A which consisted of 2 hors d’ourve platters, a fish platter, a mai...n (meat) platter, a mini dessert platter, a dessert platter and coffee or tea with decadent petits fours. Each course was a taste and visual sensation on its own and the meal was a truly balanced and deeply satisfying experience. The wine list is extensive and there is something for all tastes and budgets (largely French but also some great selections from the USA, Chile, Australia and Argentina etc). Service was very friendly, polite and professional (to the extent that the chef walked us to our taxi). When we are back in Sapporo, Le Gentil Homme will definitely be a repeat performance for this reviewer.
