Yagenbori in Kyoto has impressed us since 2004 with its well crafted dishes and kind service. Our last september 2025 visit was memorable. We’re grateful for the experience and will return in the future

Fantastic Kaiseki meal! Me and my wife had the 10 course taster menu, which was delicious. They were very accommodating for our ten year old daughter who could choose from the a’ lacarte menu. Great waiters. Excellent service. After a terrible experience at Daia Kobe Beef in Asakusa Tokyo, where the...y over charged us, £150 for a sh!t bit of steak (avoid this place at all costs) this meal was just what we needed.

Stunningly beautiful Japanese restaurant in the Gion district. Food, service, aesthetics stunning. One of the best dining experiences we have had on our trip, so far.

Absolutely delicious omakase dinner for our family of 12. We were seated in a private room upstairs. The food was amazing, about 9 courses, each one artistic and gourmet (sashimi, wagyu, mackerel, local noodles, peaches, watermelon, and so many other dishes). It was a meal to celebrate our final nig...ht on this Japan trip, and it lived up to expectations. It also happens to be on a charming side street in Gion.
