I’m not a beer drinker but I have to say the steak here is excellent - especially the 300g angus which is very good value. View is also amazing and staff really helpful and kind. Well recommended.

This is a hidden gem but very much worth seeking out. We ended up there after lunch and enjoyed a few local craft beers with a soaring view over the city. Admittedly, Osaka isn’t the most picturesque place in Japan, but this is a lovely vantage point. The staff is knowledgeable and a few of them sp...eak reasonable English so you’ll get good guidance on which beers to start with - and go on with. There’s a decent food menu and the dishes looked good, even though we didn’t partake. Certainly if you’re looking for beer beyond the mundane, this is a great option.

This is a real find - and not something you’re going to just walk past on the street. It’s on the 31st floor of the Hankyu Grand Building (behind the Hankyu Department Store). Look for the little location map when you get out of the elevator. The beers are classed into various categories here - la...gers, ales, IPAs, black beers. One of the staff members speaks English and understands the qualities you describe to be able to make a recommendation from the list. There’s also a good menu of Italian favourites to snack on, while you’re sipping away and looking over the Osaka skyline. A bonus (in Japan) is that this bar is non-smoking.

17 beers at the time of our visit. Plenty are in kanji only so prep your translation app. The staff member we had was good enough to inform me of brewery and beer name so I could look it up in Untappd. The view here from the 31st floor is unreal too. Either book or get here at open for a window sea...t. There was a long wait when we arrived at 7:30pm.

When we arrived shortly before 7:00 p.m. we were told there was a private party and we would have to be finished by 9:15. No problem. We ordered beer, our server brought menus an took our food order. He returned and said they couldn't make the sausage until 9:30. What?? But ok, skip the sausage then... A few minutes passes and he returns, repeatedly points at his watch saying we have to leave by 7:15, so we couldn't order food. All three of us speak English and heard the original quote of 9:15 and two in our party speak Japanese, so this was not a language issue. They were simply rude, refused to take the per person table charge off the bill and the host insisted he never said 9:15 p.m. So at Molto the customer is always wrong and it's no beer stand, but a tiny restaurant that thinks their view is cause for arrogance.
