“Failed to deliver the usual Japanese delight”
Attractive little place where we expected a better experience. The Sashimi chefs choice was very limited for the high price - 3,300yen and not the usually expected tender fish. Sushi chefs choice equally priced also disappointing, small pieces. Even had to pay for water and ginger. which we’ve neve...r experienced before in Japan. Overall disappointing and felt we’d been ripped off.

“Master prepared Sushi in a warm family setting”
Our second time to this wonderful family run Sushi restaurant in Kyoto. First in 2024 and now again in 2026. This is a great experience. Sweet couple, Shige is a Master. Hitomi is a gracious and kind host. Wonderful food in what feels like the family home. We even met their daughter and grand- daugh...ter this trip in. Fantastic authentic Sushi experience!!!

“Amazing sushi in Kyoto”
We had an absolutely wonderful meal. The owners worked so hard and were so polite and helpful. The restaurant is on a small quiet street, but easy to find on Google Maps. We were greeted at the door by the owner. She escorted us to the bar and was very welcoming. We ordered the Chef’s Selection... and were treated to appetizers, sushi, and special selections. Overall, everything was fresh and delicious. Our two meals (Chef’s Selection) and many drinks (about 4 beers and 4 glasses of sake) cost about $120 USD and was a great value for the experience. The service, food, and experience were top quality. I would recommend this sushi experience to anyone who comes to Kyoto.

A tiny local sushi restaurant run by a couple - husband the sushi chef, wife runs the restaurant. And amazing, fresh, delicious sushi!! A true find.

“Great Experience and Great food!!”
Please ignore the recent negative reviews. Our experience was wonderful, easy, and peaceful. We talked to both the owners who are wife and husband and they made our dining experience amazing. The food was sooo good and plentiful. The sushi was fresh and delicious. It was so cute and local, much bett...er than a random big sushi place. It is cash only but the owners were okay with us going to the atm after our meal. We had a great time and a conversation, they are so sweet and interested in our travels. I highly recommend this to anyone! We would absolutely return.
