Every dish is carefully curated, and the chef has really high standards—he personally monitors everythi...ng. One special touch: they add leaves to the charcoal, which gives the pork an amazing, unique aroma. They also change how they grill the meat depending on the season. The friendly service in the virtually private seating area stood out. They explained everything in both Korean and English. Rather than featuring truly novel ingredients, it felt more like a delicious presentation of basic ingredients. More surprising than the meat were the basic vegetables like co...rn and potatoes, along with Hokkaido melon and Japanese rice. The eel rice bowl was also memorable. The Kobe beef was on the oily side, but only 4 points per person was enough.

We wanted to have a memorable dining experience on our last day in Japan, and after seeing the high ratings for this restaurant on Tabelog, we decided to book the 16 course tasting menu via ikyu. The restaurant is very small and consists of private booths with built-in grills that face the kitchen, ...and you do have to remove your shoes upon entering the restaurant. Everything we were served was delicious and made from high quality ingredients, and I loved how the tasting menu covered all of the highlights of local Japanese ingredients (from vegetables, seafood, poultry, and wagyu). The service was amazing, and the chefs were so kind and attentive. A perfect way to cap off our trip to Japan!
