やたがらす 奈良店

We really liked this place. The restaurant was busy so we were seated at the bar with a direct view into the small galley kitchen. Ordering was done via an iPad which showed dish names in Japanese only but it also included images which could be cross referenced to the English language menu. The w...aitresses were also very helpful. We ended up ordering gyoza twice, shitake mushrooms on skewers and five types of skewered chicken. The gyoza and it’s sauce were amazing, the mushrooms great but the chicken pieces, including heart and liver, a bit more challenging for our pallets. With a few drinks, including a delicious high ball sake cocktail, a very reasonable bill of around 35 pounds.

Having completed the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Trail, including the shine at Hongu, it seemed somewhat poignant that we had dinner at Yatagarasu, the three legged crow, whilst in Nara. The food is very good, try and sit at the bar, the staff and chefs are very friendly and engaging. A wide range of I...zakaya, all freshly cooked. We drew the line at chicken sushi though!! The tablet-based ordering is good to have a go at..we mastered the drinks!! Well worth a visit, just look for the logo, Yatagarasu is not mentioned outside!

We were hoping to find an izakaya that was like one we used to frequent in Toyko. Good beer, good food with lots of grilled things and relaxed friendly people. And we did! They seemed to specialise in chicken and the Yamato chicken was particularly good. Good tofu dishes as well.

Relaxed izakaya with a great range of chicken based dishes and a wide range of sake. We rolled into here on our first night and rolled back out several hours later feeling very full and so relaxed.

good taste in nara. nabe and sashimi of chicken ,a lot of sake very good. 奈良来たら一回は行くべき店。 日本酒と鳥料理は流石。 ちょっと値段は高くなってしまうので、頼みすぎは注意が必要？
