Fantastic quality food. Great service , such a hidden gem with expansive selection of fish and sake! Highly recommend! Very authentic , torched tuna belly out of this world!

Ask the owner/ sushi chef to prepare his creation per the photo. Go for the ambiance, the eccellent sushi and sake. Sit at the bar and engage with the sushi chef. Do not make the mistake we made where we ask to cut the hand roll with the idea of sharing. Hand rolls are truly individual one to be hel...d with your hand. If you want maki roll, ask for it. We went twice. Go and enjoy immensily.

Tucked away, you wouldn’t normally find this spot if you weren’t looking. Outside the tourist area, which made it nice. Place was busy with local traffic and owner seemed to know everyone. He is a second generation owner who met his wife in Australia while learning the trade. Took over for his f...ather some years ago and making a run of it. Sushi was great, with unique options. While not a tempura fan, his was light and well prepared. Sake list was great. Why not a five star - perhaps the limited menu. Would I return - YES.

Visited on our last night in Japan, and enjoyed ourselves. The owner/itamae (and his wife) were very friendly. The sushi was fresh and tasty. Easy to navigate with my minimal Japanese, and the owner's English was helpful to fill in the gaps. A second generation sushi restaurant, as we learned. ...The itamae took over from his father who founded the establishment. His knowledge of fine sake from around the country, and locally, was an added bonus. Thankfully just outside of the touristy maze of Gion proper, getting away from the Las-Vegas feel of the crowded lanes.
