We found this little restaurant just west of the river near the train station in mid-Kyoto, blocks from Gion. They were advertising KOBE beef, so we thought we would check it out. They have a long bar with little gas grills in front of each chair. In the back are small tables with their own grills t...oo. We ordered ribs and steak pieces (not kobe) and they fired up our grills, one for each person. We got Japanese style salads, pickles and rice and a big plate of uncooked meat. They also provided a dipping sauce for the meat that was excellent. We LOVED it. The price was reasonable and the food great without being seafood heavy. Mom is allergic to fish and shellfish. Really good! Quite small dishes but great taste! Great drinks and fun to grill. We bought drinks and food and had a good time. Do not show up super hungry since the amount of food is not a a lot.

We stumbled upon this restaurant while exploring Kyōto, and it didn’t disappoint. We order the Mixed Meats Combination for two and it was enough for both. It was delicious. Highly recommend.
