割烹 みなと

We were staying in Art Hotel Osaka Bay Tower and so happened across this fantastic restaurant situated within it. The service was exquisite, they were so polite and respectful, finding us an English translation of the menu, catering for me not eating prawns/shrimp etc (even though we were a walk in... that day) and generally just serving each course with such grace and courteousness. We chose the artistic and colourful kaiseki dinner course tasting menu, which was exquisite, the most suprising element and highlight for me was the firefly squid as I thought I wasn't going to enjoy it but actually ended up finding this one of the stand out dishes of the evening. I am afraid that my words won't do justice to how fabulous each course was but hopefully the pictures might go some way to demonstrating it. The beef was so tender, the fish was sticky, meaty and had a beautiful crispy skin, and sushi was fantastic. The views from the restaurant are beautiful and the decor in the restaurant feels very traditional and calming. All in all a fabulous place to dine and when we return to in the future to Osaka would hope to be able to dine here again.
