We were so lucky that we stumbled upon this restaurant after taking the romantic train from Arashiyama, and were wandering around Kameoka looking for a place to eat lunch. We had the short course omikase which was fabulous. They showcased local ingredients in a fine-dining experience of five courses..., including dessert. All very inventive and delicious. Warning though, they only take cash. The restaurant has been operating for 90 years according to our server. They also speak very good English, so we were able to learn a lot about the foods we were eating.

Absolutely wonderful experience. Perfect service, food and ambience. The garden is so beautifully maintained. We had the omakase kaiseki set and it was beautifully presented. Taste was as good as it looked.

Amazing food with 5-star presentation. They also have great event spaces, including a tea room and a banquet room with a stage. The garden is beautiful and serene, and the dishes are artworks in themselves. More of an experience than just a meal.

A place for a great traditional experience! Our meals consisted of traditional foods from Kyoto, made fresh by the chef on the spot. It made for a wonderful first time visit to Kyoto. I will be visiting to have a meal every time I come back to Kyoto. Delicious food and kind people!
