“The best experience”
Can’t believe this place isn’t better known. It’s like the best kept secret but I won’t gatekeep. The food was amazing! Presentation with seasonal elements that were well thought out and truly incorporated into the parade of artful dishes atop the most beautiful earthenware. We got the 9 course Kais...eki meal and I truly loved each and every one. Each dish felt like a book waiting to be savored. The chef also recommended a seasonal sake that perfectly complemented our meal. We were advised to take small sips here and there. Some bites or food before/after sake. Some bites purely on their own. It was cool to observe the alchemy that takes place. It was so good that we had 2 bottles. The practice of mindfulness and appreciation was achieved through process and careful ritual- The portioning, the tempo, the servers’ descriptions with each dish. Their assemblage of Fall dishes were spectacular; can’t wait to go back to experience the other seasons with them.

“Kaiseki perfection!”
We got lucky and ate the fall-themed kaiseki dinner at Kakomura after our adventure with the wild deer at Nara Park. The 9-course kaiseki meal was incredible! Everything tasted phenomenal and the presentation was exquisite. Service was impeccable and every aspect of our dining experience was perfect...! The chef was also warm and friendly. We can’t wait to return again to try a different seasonal meal.

“Fabulous kaiseki dinner”
We went to dinner here based on the recommendation of our hotel. They made the reservation for us and gave directions. Good thing, as not a place a westerner would stumble into. There is bar seating of 8 stools, with a view of the kitchen, and three tatami rooms. We had a set meal, the second ...on the list of four choices. The distinction is by price: 5000 to 12,000 yen per meal. Ours came out to 16,000 yen for the two of us, including saki. That covered about 10 courses of food. The food was all fabulous, ranging from perfectly done vegetables and shrimp, to wonderful sashimi, to dishes I have no idea what they were, but they tasted great. Highly recommended as a one of a kind experience for a kaiseki dinner.
