Bistro KAWANO

My favorite meal during our two week trip to Japan was at this bistro which I think is best described as French-Japanese fusion. Our party opted for the prix fixe menu, and each course was delicious with a lovely balance of flavors. The starter included pâté, salmon with roe, as well as tuna and so...me other items. The warmed French bread and the mushroom bisque were delicious. All of our party had the beef fillet, which was perfectly grilled to medium rare with a red wine sauce. The dessert plate was excellent and included a crème brûlée, ice cream, fruit, and a slice of light cheese cake. it was a perfectly balanced meal and we all left satisfied. In short, the service and food were a delight and I would come back here in a heartbeat.

We just happened upon this wonderful place and enjoyed a thoroughly delightful lunch. A choice of several fixed price options. Hor d’oeuvres were simply prepared and delicious, fresh salmon, pate, scallops and greens. Tasty mushroom soup, followed by entree, dessert and coffee/tea. Service was e...xcellent—mindful and charming. A beautiful small bistro that provides a different dining experience.

Simple restaurant but very good quality/price relation. Very friendly staff. Excellent beef steak! 50€/ person.

This restaurant, although a little ordinary, served THE best fillet steak we have had travelling Japan over the last 3 weeks. Very friendly staff and chef owner with French styled menus. 5,000 yen each with wine was an absolute bargain for 4 courses.

Good food. Good service. Reasonable price. Nothing too extraordinary. The meat was very well prepared. The fixed menus are recommended. They also save you the trouble to decide too much. To sum it up - a good default place that you probably won't visit twice.
