Dining Kitchen Roi

Having no recollection of our previous visit to this restaurant, we accidentally went again. We had the lunch course menu. It is still a restaurant that is trying to be fine dining but they just haven't figured out how. It is quite funny that our review of this place from 5-6 years ago is sti...ll spot on. It is a comfortable place to sit and chat for an extended period of time. We are glad we came to this place for this reason. As for the food, their fish course was Japanese tempura and their meat course was a pork cutlet but it was quite fatty. (Likely, it wasn't trimmed before cooked) The presentation was needlessly fancy. For a course meal, I left not quite full. I wish I saw an overall improvement in this place but it was still very meh!!!!

It's supposed a French / Italian restaurant. What it has become is not quite French, not quite Italian but Japanese merge but not necessarily in a good way. We had the course menu, it was just alright. Considering the price point, under 2,000 yen for lunch, they could have done so much more. Sma...ll things, the sauce was obviously just brought out of the fridge, so it was ice cold. With the pork cutlets placed on top, it made a soggy cold cutlet. Good flavor, decent enough tenderness but it was lacking. The soup was corn water. The kind you find in most family restaurants in Japan. Why can't they make a French or Italian soup? Server was obviously new to the gig, didn't know much and kept dropping cutlery. Pay parking on site however the restaurant does not subsidize. This place is quiet enough to chat. Comfortable atmosphere. And very little other options in the neighborhood.
