“Hidden gem in Kyoto”
Great service , awesome local seasonal ingredients at its freshest, creative plating. The Omakase lunch was very reasonably priced.

“Reasonable and Perfect Japanese dishes in Gion, Kyoto”
Very delicious Japanese food, “ Kaiseki”, in Gion, Kyoto! Wonderful location cross to Shirakawa bridge. Reasonableprice, but “I’m stuffed” after 6 dishes and pot rice with special Japanese vegetable for lunch. We selected ¥5000 course meal. The restaurant is not huge, with 2 tables and 10 counter ...seats. It was a little bit difficult for us to find out this restaurant on the narrow alley. It is in the mysterious area, so we felt happy to reach there. Happy lunch in Kyoto!

“Excellent Kaiseki Dining Experience - Superb Food and Wonderful Staff”
Out tour guide recommended this restaurant for a special meal in Kyoto, and it was well worth it, especially since we were celebrating our birthday. A small, intimate place, seating only 18. Attentively served by the head chef and the rest of the staff. We had an eight course Kaiseki dinner over ...2-1/2 hours, and each course was a gem. Good sake to accompany the meal. Reservations are required. It was a memorable birthday!

“Top kaiseki - Worth finding”
This is a to top kaiseki restaurant. Luckily it was recommended to me otherwise I would never find it. Even when I knew where it was I had problem finding the entrance in small side alley. But it was worth the effort. Food was served in seven courses and it was delicious. Place is nice and typical a...s is the service.

“Top kaiseki restaurant”
Nakatani is a superb Kaiseki restaurant (Kaiseki restaurants serve traditional Japanese cuisine in multiple courses). We had a birthday dinner there, and the food in seven courses was delicious and presented exquisitely. Like many good restaurants in Kyoto, the restaurant is small, with two low ta...bles, each seating four, plus about ten seats at the bar, on the other side of which the chefs worked. We both strongly recommend it.
