Japanese SAKE BAR／日本酒バー 祇園本店

We had a lovely experience at Japanese SAKE BAR in Gion. The atmosphere is sleek and intimate, making it a really nice place to enjoy a drink and dinner in Kyoto 🥰 We tried the thick-cut Goto beef roast beef course and the house-made roast pork course. Both were beautifully presented and very satis...fying, and I especially liked that the courses included several appetizers as well as eel dashi chazuke to finish. I loved the drinks (especially the sake martini), and the staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about sake and alcohol in general. It was really interesting to hear their recommendations and learn a little more about the different flavors and styles 💗 A great spot if you want to experience Japanese sake in a more refined but still relaxed setting in Gion. I’d definitely recommend it, especially for anyone curious about sake or looking for a special drink experience in Kyoto! 🍸😍

Such a beautiful sake bar in Kyoto with a great location and a very elegant atmosphere. It feels classy and special without being too formal, making it a perfect place for a relaxed sake night. My personal favorite was the Sake Martini - it was so good! It’s also not something you come across that ...easily in Japan, so it was definitely a highlight for me. We also ordered the set with roasted pork and Wagyu, and both paired perfectly with the sake. Great drinks, delicious food, beautiful atmosphere, and a really nice experience overall. Definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for something a little more sophisticated in Kyoto!

I had a really enjoyable experience here. It’s a great place to explore different types of Japanese sake, even if you’re not very familiar with sake yet. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and it was fun learning about the different flavours and styles. A nice spot to visit in Gion if you wan...t to experience something uniquely Japanese beyond the usual tourist attractions.
