“Entertaining and delicious experience!”
We (2 adults, 2 children aged 7 and 12) had our own private Soba class and learned how to make our favorite Japanese noodles - from flour to table! Apart from learning everything from the start and doing all steps on our own (taught by the empathetic Soba Master), it was much fun and afterwards we p...roudly enjoyed our results at the restaurant on one of the lower floors. Definitely worth trying!

“Very expensive cooking class”
We attended the soba cooking classes with our 2 boys. The cook was lovely but the class was ok… very expensive for what it is to be perfectly honest!

“Takagi Soba Restaurant”
Matsumoto is known for its soba and this restaurant is located across from the Mastumoto Castle grounds and down the Nakamichi-dori on the right side so it's easy to find. Our servers appeared to be multi-lingual as they easily spoke Japanese, English, and their native language (Nepalese?). We or...dered the soba and tempura combination and I would highly recommend that selection. After climbing and descending the steep stairs of Matsumoto Castle we were really ready for a bowl of soba. There's a souvenir shop next door that has a variety of goods which reflect what Matsumoto is known for, such as the temari ball.

“Delicious!”
We wanted to try out the local soba so I had the one with cold soba & duck soup and my husband had the one with wasabi vegetables & cold soba. Both were very delicious and we would have them again. They gave us a ¥50 discount ticket each to use in the gift shop on the first floor.
