“Passive aggressive staff, asked to leave early.”
After arriving 2.5 hours before closing and spending a valid amount on food and beverages we were told to leave 5 minutes before the actual closing time whilst not quite finished our boutique beers. Was not impressed as the tone was passive aggressive, which we felt through the whole experience incl...uding being glared at whilst leaving before closing! For a bar in the heart of Nagoya and so many other options we really could have done without a visit here. This bad vibe could only be filtered down from senior management... Floor staff were all enjoying this incessqtuous behavior which was visible from all their faces prior to departure. Food was ok, beer was excellent but... Never again, sorry guys. Wish we could have had a more pleasant experience. Shame really.

“A nice little beer hall”
I visited this place for lunch and had a very good experience. They had a big menu with a wide variety of beer choices. The food menu was limited, but I say there were enough choices to make anyone looking for a quick lunch happy . The decor was appealing and like another reviewer said, it was lai...d out like a German beer hall. There were several long tables that could fit 10 people. So this place would be a good for small to medium groups. I had the fish and chips with a side of onion rings. And I have to say the food was very good. I really enjoyed what I had. The beer menu was quite extensive, but a little pricey. Its probably because a lot of beers were on tap from England and Germany. They had a sampler beer menu which I would try on my next trip. The menu also showed a large selection of bottled beers. So if you like beer, this would be a must try place.

“Museum? load of stacked bottles”
My wife and I were only in Nagoya for a few hours and after walking around for a while we looked in this building for a little shopping and seen the sign for the world beer museum and I fancied a drink so we went up there, we looked in and there were only a couple of people sitting down, a staff mem...ber was directing us to a table but I asked if we could sit at the bar as we were not eating, the chap seemed a little put out at this and stated that it was closing in about an hour, it was only one drink that I wanted, he gave me a menu and I chose my drink, my wife had gone out to use the bathroom and when she returned she said she didn't want anything so I told him it's just the one drink thanks, he then said you must have something as you are sitting down, the place was empty but I could understand if it was busy she could be occupying a seat of a potential paying customer, she said she didn't want anything but again he insisted, I looked over to where my drink was being prepared so I felt obliged to still have it, had it not been already being poured I would have told him to forget it, my wife ordered an orange to keep this man happy, what a contrast to what we had experienced so far in Japan which was very polite people, not this guy, so obviously we wouldn't be back but this place or should I say this particular person, he had an American accent may have lived there perhaps, should be avoided, it just looks like a cafe anyway, with a bar area certainly nothing like a German beer cellar. If you recognize the description you should go on a customer service course, maybe that's why the place was empty, there are other places to go.

“Beer Lover's Delight”
I came for a quick solo lunch so it wasn't quite happy hour. Nonetheless, I can see this place rockin' after hours. The place is as strong an effort as can be to recreate a German beer hall, complete with Japanese ladies outfitted in Fraulein wear. Roomy seating and spacious hall. Couldn't quite ma...ke out the music...some kind of western banjo barn dance genre alternating with Rhine-inspired polka yodeling music. But am not a music pro so what do I know. Staff was pleasant enough but not adept at English. The menu is visual enough to point and order. Reasonably wide selection of tap and bottled beer but limited food selections. Then again, this IS a beer museum. Featured world bottle beers run over US$10. Decent portions of pasta and pizza can be had for almost the same price. Taste and quality are underwhelming. Good place for a group dinner. Especially in summer when beer garden dining is so du jour in Japan.
