Kirin City Plus Shinjukutonanguchi

We stopped in her for a quick lunch while shopping around Shinjuku station. The food and beer hit the spot on a rainy Tokyo day.

I went there for dinner with my wife and we really enjoyed the food and drinks here. Specially the fish and chips. The service and really quick and servers were helpful to provide whatever we needed. I’ll visit here again if i get a chance.

Kirin City is a large place to sit down and order yourself a generous sized meal. The menu is extensive and plenty to chose from no matter where you’re from across the globe. I had the sausages and vegetables and a glass of Kirin. Portion size was generous and plenty for my big appetite. Staff we...re fast and efficient on taking my order and bringing the meal. Their good English with my bad Japanese meant everything went smoothly. Wheelchair accessible and kid friendly.

Having read favourable reviews of the various branches of Kirin City across Shinjuku, we thought this would be a great place to have a few relaxed drinks and get some food. We were so wrong - the Kirin was good, the food was OK, but the concept they advertise is just not there. If you expect to have... a drink, perhaps order some food, and then have a few more drinks at a leisurely place, don’t come here - it’s less like a brewpub, and more like the busiest crappiest Pizza Hut you’ve ever been to. The waiters are invisible, so even if we’d been able to ignore the glaring of queuing customers waiting for our table, it would have been impossible to get a second drink. We were in and out in 30 minutes - 1x drink, 1x pizza each.
