“Extremely poor service - worst dining experience in Japan”
We stumbled into this restaurant on the second floor and found that it was quite popular among the Japanese. We opted for the straightforward menu for 2 - Course A (8000 yen) or Course B (14000 yen). We ordered some drinks to go along our meal as well. When we had just finished our food (barely 2-3... minutes), the server immediately placed the bill in front of us asking for payment. I'd perfectly understand if there was a queue outside, but we were the only ones (i.e. non-Japanese) who received this kind of treatment. Other diners were allowed to finish up their conversations or what-not before asking for the bill at their own time. We were expected to settle the bill and leave immediately unlike the others. While the service staff helped the other customers with retrieving their coats as they were leaving, they didn't bother with us. Overall I felt that we were treated as second-class customers for no apparent reason which was extremely upsetting. At this point we have been travelling across Japan for 3 weeks and were well-accustomed with Japanese restaurant etiquette. I am sure we did not do anything to deserve the poor service other than the fact that we were tourists. In all honesty, the food was definitely above average but only fair in terms of value given their prices. I definitely think you can find better restaurants in Japan with better service for the same quality, if not better.

“Best meat ever!!!”
The Kobe meat was nothing short of perfect. Try this restaurant if you like meat and visit Tokyo. You make the meat yourself in a grill that is built in the table.
“Lovely authentic Yakiniku”
We were in Asakusa late for dinner as most places close early(8:30). Found this restaurant hidden away on one of the side streets and offered an English menu. Offered Yakiniku(Korean BBQ) along with other dishes. Tried the Bibimbap and was not disappointed, very good value at about 2000 yen per pers...on.
