“Excellent as Always”

I visit Osaka 2-3 times a year and this is a must go restaurant for me. Serves excellent meats that never compromise on quality and freshness. I recommend the shabu-shabu. If you have a sweet tooth (not me) go for the sukliyaki.

“Shabu Shabu just shab-beautiful!”

I was recommend this from doing an Osaka food tour (see separate review) and I can say I can say this is one of the most delicious food I’ve ever eaten in my life!! Japanese food in general is excellent but this was my favourite dinner of my week trip I arrived 5 mins before closing time, (as stru...ggled to find it) but the staff were still outstanding and helpful. I asked the waitress what the best cut of meat was for this, she explained the one with marbling best for shabu shabu - it wasn’t the most expensive choice (which she could have easily said) but not the cheapest either. She then brought me a little beef and cucumber appetiser which I was didn’t realise you got, along with the usual miso soup. She then switched on the heater and boiled the pot on the table Then she brought out the beef and the veggies...she explained what each was and put the veggies in the pot...when the pot boiled she said ready, I show you, picked up a thin slice of the beef with chopsticks and “shabu shabu” (swish swish) in the pot for approx 15-20 seconds and then placed in a small dish of either soy or sesame sauce...it then just literally melts in your mouth.....wow!!! So delicious! I think when you have amazing tasting food it’s a really good restaurant, but when you get amazing food with an amazing server it turns into an experience and not just a dinner I sincerely want to thank the lady who served me - elsewhere in the world i would have left a significant tip, as she thoroughly would have deserved it I would recommend anyone visiting Osaka should go try here

“Must eat on our list”

We have been to Osaka 6 times since we moved to HK and have been to this restaurant every time we went to Osaka. It's the best ever shabu shabu. The beef quality is unbeatable. Do try the highest grade. You will feel the beef melts in your month without tasting any fat. The biggest tip is to go duri...ng lunch time for a much lower price menu. This is a must eat, can't miss restaurant.

“Sukiyaki and raw egg wash sans chalata”

Best Sukiyaki in recent memory where the attention to detail with the server removing the egg chalata in preparing the raw egg wash pretty well sums it all up. Nothing over looked and with a memorable Kyoto junmai ginjo complementing the Kyoto beef from the Morita ranch.

“Good quality beef - Sukiyaki is excellent”

Moritaya seems like one of the more popular place for Sukiyaki. We tried the basic Ume beef - it comes with an appetiser, main course sukiyaki and dessert. It isn't cheap for dinner - about 5k yen per pax. It may be expensive but the beef and vegetables they serve are top quality food. Note that th...e sukiyaki is very sweet - if you don't like it too sweet please tell them otherwise they will sprinkle so much - few spoonfuls of sugar!! I had to stop her because I don't like too much sugar. I find that service in this place is just alright, not as friendly as typical Japs would be, but nevertheless they did a good job by serving us and all - no more no less. All in all, it's not a bad place for Sukiyaki, would recommend lunch instead as it comes with a more affordable price tag.
