“Hidden Gem Worth a Visit!”
First of all, this is a Yakiniku restaurant, meaning you have to grill your meats yourselves. While Kobe beef teppanyaki is all the hype (well deserved) it tends to fall on the high end side and thus cost much more than yakiniku. There are several Ishidaya, but this particular one on Tor Road just s...erve Yakiniku. It's located on the 2nd floor of a building right in the corner of the intersection, on top of Lawson. They serve Kobe beef, and other parts like tounge, which I'm not sure is from Kobe cows or no but man it's the best ox tounge I've ever tried in my entire life period! We also had the Yaki Shabu (thin sliced beef), Jyo Rosu (chuck roll) and Jyo Karubi (short ribs). Do try to order the Jyo / premium one, the price doesn't differ that much than the normal cut. Needless to say, this is the best yakiniku we ever have. Notes : Yakiniku and teppanyaki, are simply totally 2 different things. It's two different experience. The beef cuts you'll get are different as well. Yakiniku places typically don't offer you tenderloin or fillet mignon cuts for example. Do eat in moderation and try not to lose control (easier said than done). Due to the high fat amount, probably eat like 70-80% of your usual beef intake. You don't want to ruin your kobe beef experience because you over eat. Quality of the beef means you can enjoy them rare, but do consider the fat amount again, so probably medium rare to medium are your best bet. At about half price from teppanyaki dinner, I surely recommend trying this. Enjoy!
