“Tasty food filled with locals - bring cash”
Received this recommendation from the concierge who is a local. Said this is his favorite spot on the island. Reinforced by the excellent TA reviews, we have it a shot - and are so glad we did! Love the ambiance. Nothing fancy about this from the outside, and simple but clean on the inside. Choos...e to sit at a western style table or sit crossed legs on a low table. Cash only at this establishment. Order by feeding the machine with bills and coins, then press the buttons for your selection, If you look lost enough like we did, a helpful person will bring you a menu with some pictures. Essentially choose a small or large size portion of various noodles. We had the Hamaya soba and the Okinawa soba. So good, the pork was tender and the fat just melted into the broth on both. Highly recommend!

“Casual comfort food at its finest”
There was a short line up for late lunch on a tuesday, a good sign for delicious food. Everyone first orders and pays through vending machine, then i was informed of the table number. Both the hamaya soba and okinawa soba were amazing. Meat was tender and melts immediately, the broth was just right... - not too flavorful and not too bland.

“Delicious! Fantastic Okinawa style soba noodles”
So glad we visited. It's very casual inside - you pay at the vending machine out front and get a ticket - prices are great. The soba was wonderful. The pork is so tender it just melts in your mouth and the noodles are cooked just right. It's served with a clear, relatively light broth. The small siz...e was perfect for me for a late breakfast/early lunch. Maybe the best meal I had in Okinawa.

“Good Food, Bad Customer Service”
Good food overshadowed by a horrible experience. Customer service was appalling. We ordered Jyushi Rice for our 15 month old child and started to feed her some when we found a thin, COMPLETELY black strand of hair BURIED inside the bowl of rice. Not on top, not somewhat mixed around, BURIED beneath ...and throughout the small bowl of rice. We brought it to the staff's attention and they were visibly surprised. Not sure why, because no one in that kitchen was wearing a hair net, just a bandana that doesn't do much to keep falling hair off of food. This would've been an issue quickly resolved and honestly we would not have minded since we didn't feed our daughter much of the tainted rice. The issue came about when the same waitress came back with a new bowl of rice and then told me it was probably MY hair that fell in the rice because no one in their staff has long hair....while the same lady saying this had hair past shoulder length. My hair is over two feet long, copper blonde on the last 5 inches, falls past my butt, and was currently BRAIDED. Immediately lost my appetite. I was told that they're very prideful but maybe they should be prideful about the quality of the food they put out instead. Also, invest in some effective hairnets! By far, the only bad experience I have ever had while visiting Okinawa.

“"Michelik" 3 stars in Okinawa”
i tend to have my own Michelik rating when I am visiting food places, and this is one of the 3 stars (highest honor) places that i would recommend. the pork just melt in your mouth, price is reasonable and worth it. there is a huge signboard in front of the shop showing you where to park, rather tha...n park illegally on the roadside.
