Isomarusuisan Hachiojiten

On our way to lunch last week, we took a side road and discovered Isomaru Suisan. The interior was almost obscured by the signs showing their lunch specials, but it was crowded. I had been looking for a good, reasonable sushi or sashimi place in Hachioji, and there were also grilled seafood items, s...o we decided to try it for dinner. The interior has a festive atmosphere with glass fishing floats, red and white lanterns, and rough-hewn tables with gas grills. A complimentary tray of snacks were served. Everything we had - grilled squid, grilled scallops, and sashimi - was very good. The waitresses were very nice, but perhaps a little inexperienced; they had to be reminded of several things we ordered. We've been back separately for lunch, served from 11:30. I had the bintoro maguro don for 590 yen; it was delicious. The service was very good at lunch time. Smoking is allowed.
