“Perfect lunch”
We had the option with tempura (oh my god, the tempura egg!) and a soup with udon, it was delicious. I am honestly still thinking about that meal, and it's been almost two weeks! Special thanks to the lovaly waitress who helped us out with our order, sorry I didn't write down your name!

“Delicious!”
We loved the tempura here! It was absolutely delicious! The staff was wonderful. They gave me a basket to put my shopping bags in so that I did not have to put them directly on the floor, and no one would trip over them. They also helped up choose which meal to eat. I would go back there in a heartb...eat. Definitely check it out!!

“Perfect for tempura”
Restaurant is situated - hidden - in a enormous building that is crowded with all kind of different restaurants. Very friendly staff that was very patient with us tourists who had a difficult time to order whitin the huge range of tempura possibilities. Visited by local Japanese people and few ( onl...y us ) tourist. Food was delicious and this for a fair price. As everywhere in Japan alcoholic drinks are rather expensive. I would definitely visit this place again !

“Crisp and there's a certain way to eat Tempura”
My trip to japan was amazing, having tried various dishes of Japanese cuisine in Japan, the tempura from Tempura Hisago was the best. They taught us how to eat it. Not all kinds of tempura is dipped with tempura sauce... I love how considerate they are in having an English version of Tempura. This... restaurant is inside the shopping centre of the top floor in Akihabara UDX. Whilst being seated and waited for our meals the restaurant was very quiet all you can hear is the gentle crackling of the fryer along the side of the restaurant where they are deep frying our tempuras. You can hear that nothing is rushed. It's quite relaxing at the restaurant actually. Not to mention the restaurant was very clean. There is a large exhaust that hovers above the fryer but it's surprisingly very quiet... be assured that you don't get the greasy feeling when you dine there. So seafood tempura is eaten with salt and any vegetable tempura are dipped with tempura sauce with grated reddish mixed into the sauce. I didn't understand why until I tried it.. the salt for tempura gives it a little bit of flavour but doesn't soak the gently fried tempura to ruin the crisp. Their shrimp / prawn tempura are very fresh at Tempura Hisago. These were a set lunch special which was about 1,000 yen for my tempura meal above. The tempura mix bowl was 1,630 yen. Although it looks like there's not much sauce in the bowl, the flavours in the mixed tempura all worked with the sushi rice underneath it. Condiments were very adequate and for J who has a bigger appetite he was content. Forget to mention that the staff offers iced cold water to foreigners and tea to japanese speaking customers. If you prefer tea, just ask for it. The staff just isn't sure whether you'd like their tea. :) We just love how Japanese food in general looks petite but when you eat it, everything is perfect. We don't feel overly full nor hungry for more food.
