“Very poor quality tempura”
Soggy, greasy and over cooked tempura, my meal bore no relationship to the other portions being served around me. Wonder why??

Located on the 3F Akihabara UDX building near the JR station, this quaint but inviting restaurant delighted with a tasty tempura meal. English menu is available, staff friendly and efficient. Sat at the bar in front of the tempura chef who was preparing ingredients for the lunchtime, you can witne...ss the skill and care that goes into preparing your meal. The set menu presented with rice, salad, miso soup and a generous portion of tempura seafood & veg. The batter was light, the sauce and salt complementary to add flavour. They even give instructions for the tempura uninitiated. Salt and lemon for seafood, sauce for veg, but nothing to stop you from doing whatever you like either. At lunch there were plenty of salary-men/women attending, but the food still came out quick. Well worth the visit if you are in the area and feel peckish for tempura. You won't be disappointed.

“Tasty Tempura and approachable ”
First I am non-Japanese but visit Tokyo monthly and this restaurant is very approachable. It is in the top floor of a major Ginza department store with about 5 other nice restaurants. Waitress spoke very good English and translated the chef's comments. He was extremely personable and fun to sit at c...ounter to watch him cook. Very light batter. Insanely fresh ingredients, fish, crab and shrimp really good. Even had some beef perfectly cooked and tender. Mushroom was spectacular. If you are a new visitor to Tokyo in the Ginza area, getting your bearings, this is a great option. I am sure there are better high end restaurants, but price was good for quality, not cheap, not expensive. Recommend as 5 star based on experience vs expectation.

“Really really good Tempura at Anime Centre”
This may not be brilliant tempura, but it is really very very good. The key is to sit at the counter - the chef is very friendy, and the process is fun! Note, it doesn't matter which version of the set menu you order, you'll end up with too much...

This place was a little odd to find on our first day in Japan, but wasn't hard and didn't take long. It was on the 5th floor (if i recall correctly) of a business building that had a lot of other places to eat on the floor as well. The staff was very nice and we had an amazing bowl of tempura. The t...empura had sauce already on it which was great on the shrimp and rice.
