Superb food and friendly staff combine to make this hidden gem worth every penny. We loved the succulent shrimp dumpling in its broth and the amazing bonito. A bit hard to find but well worth the effort!

We had a truly delightful experience at Fushikino. I had the 9-course kaiseki with sake pairing. Each course and accompanying sake pairing were served on fine ceramic ware or lacquer ware, and the presentation was exquisite. The courses were served at a leisurely pace, with enough time to savor... each course. My personal favorite was the bonito sashimi (course 3). Coming from abroad, my initial impression of bonito was associated with the fish flake, but the bonito sashimi was wonderful, either eaten alone or with the complementing dipping sauce. The different sakes were selected to complement the respective courses, some were chilled, some were warm, and a few were actually chilled sparkling sakes. The quantities provided were generous, but I purposely held back to make sure I can enjoy the food without getting too tipsy. The serving staff was courteous and helpful, and at least one member of the staff spoke English, which made the experience more accessible to visitors from abroad. There is also an option for dining in a private room for a very reasonable charge, and we ate in this room. Overall a real highlight of our trip.

We had the seven course dinner with sake match which was excellent. The food was delicious, service excellent. Relaxed tranquil surroundings, highly recommended
