Yoshicyou

Yakitoris were quite good but definitely overpriced compare to many other places in Tokyo. We were really surprised when we got the bill. For 2 yakitori sets (5 each), one small rice bowl with small chicken slices and 2 drinks, we were charged more than 7000Y ! Because of high prices first and most...ly because of 2x600 Yen of service/seating charge, probably applied because we were tourists... and 8 to 10% taxes. We would have been pleased to pay the service charge if it would have been mentioned clearly on the menu and if we have accepted to stay. Never got this curious experience with nothing mentioned anywhere in another place. All of this was done with a lot of smiles. It's a shame. We felt trapped even if we knew the service/charge practice, which is quite an uncommon feeling in a Japanese restaurant.

The food is good but I find that a budget of around 6000 yen for Yakitori is a little over specially for the Gotanda area. I am not saying that the food is bad. You should try the chicken Sasami (half raw chicken) yes they serve that in most Japanese Yakitori places. Would I come back. Most li...kely not since there are so many other places to choose from but I wanted put down my opinion about this place. Location is Gotanda, it is not really a place for dating, there is a seedy part of town as well but you can find good local food.
