My wife and I dined at The Tavern during our recent visit to Tokyo. The evening began well, and the food throughout the meal was enjoyable. The tuna starter was fresh and well balanced, the pasta was flavourful, the beef was cooked beautifully, and the veal cutlet was crisp, tender and excellent. Th...e bread service and desserts were also very good. The kitchen clearly delivers food to a high standard. Unfortunately, what should have been a memorable dining experience was overshadowed by the service we received during the second half of the evening. The waiter serving us became noticeably brusque and appeared intent on rushing us through the meal. The atmosphere changed from relaxed and welcoming to uncomfortable and hurried. Rather than being allowed to enjoy our evening at our own pace, we felt repeatedly pressured and rushed, which is the last thing one expects when dining at a restaurant of this calibre. Most upsetting of all, my wife became genuinely distressed by the manner in which we were treated. What should have been a pleasant and enjoyable evening ended in disappointment and discomfort. Following our visit, I sent a polite and detailed complaint directly to the restaurant’s management outlining our concerns. Regrettably, I have received no response whatsoever. While service failures can occur anywhere, the complete lack of acknowledgement afterwards has only added to the disappointment. Good food alone does not create a great restaurant experience. Hospitality, professionalism and making guests feel welcome are equally important. On this occasion, despite the quality of the food, those standards were sadly not met. I sincerely hope management takes guest feedback more seriously in the future, as the restaurant has the potential to be excellent.

We booked the Christmas festive dinner expecting a holiday atmosphere. The food was good, and the unlimited drinks were enjoyable. However, the live music was a major letdown, only one Christmas song was played all evening, and the rest were sad breakup songs that completely missed the festive mood.... (Havana, Hotel California, Flowers…)This really ruined the overall experience.

Well-organized staff, great view of Tokyo from the 51st floor. Amazing menu. Reserving seats could be a bit smoother experience, but it still helps you skip wait times entirely, which is always a plus.

Had lunch with my old friend whom I hadn't seen for a year, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there, with cosy atmosphere, good presentation, and authentic tastes. We also enjoyed the gorgeous view including the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. She especially liked the complimentary birthday lollipop. Th...ank you!!

My wife and another couple I went to this restaurant for dinner to celebrate the other couples anniversary. I cannot say enough good things regarding this place! We asked for a table with a view and when there was not one available they put us in a private dining room with a view. How wonderful! ... The staff all made us feel like royalty and made the Anniversary dinner very very special. Fantastic service. The food, especially the steaks, were top notch and what a great view! Highly recommended!
