Mametan

If you search for good but not expensive Japanese restaurant, I highly recommend this place. It has only one course, which includes around 7 plates, at the price JPY 5,800. The menu is changed depends on ingredients and season. All dishes are not so complicated, rather simple but reflect traditiona...l Japanese cuisine. I also recommend to try nice Japanese sake, which are always kept under good condition. You can enjoy Sake pairing on request. Even if you ask for it, the total cost will be around JPY 10,000. The Area, this restaurant is located in, one of the most popular place both Japanese and foreign tourist. There are many temples, shrines and old street lined with houses and many shops. You also enjoy a stroll around that ares before you go to the restaurant. It has only 8 seat at the counter other than one table for 4 people without chair, so it is better to make a reservation.

Opened February 2015 in Yanaka, about 10 minutes walk from where I live, I think Mametan is the best Japanese restaurant in Yanaka / Nedzu area, visited about 10 times since then. Chef, Mr. Hata, who learned his skill in several famous Japanese restaurant such as Fukuda-ya in Yotsuya, Den in Jimboc...ho, provide wonderful Japanese Cuisine based on tradition but with a bit of his young imagination. There is only one prix-fixe menu of 5,800 yen, around 6 or 7 cource. Al lot of wonderful Japanese Sake selection.
