The next hotspot on our list is an old-established café that is a favorite of Nagoyans for many years. And the most popular item on the menu? Fried shrimp sandwich. What sounds simple at first will surprise you with its incredible deliciousness: The hearty serving of fried shrimps are refined with a superb combination of both tonkatsu and tare sauce. 3. Dine Like a Shogun: A Pastry Shop from the Time of the Tokugawas

This is a recommendation especially for those hot days that has everyone craving for something delicious as well as refreshing. The café we’re introducing here was opened in November of 2013 by the famous pastry company called Ryoguchiya Korekiyo that has been founded in the year of 1634 and has enjoyed the patronage of the Tokugawa family, Japan’s shoguns, throughout the ages. Not only are the dishes served here refined and tasteful, but the appearance of the store is in no way inferior to the little treasures on the menu. The must-try item, however, is shirozenzai, a soup from sweet white bean paste. When feeling exhausted from the heat of the summer, this is just the right dish to reenergize your body!
