“Best but by far most expensive meal during 3 week trip to Japan”
Excellent food and experience. so much food that we could have shared one meal rather than had one each. Great experience, great chef. Glad we did it but £280 for two with no wine (v v expensive), ouch!

“Good resturant with local favour”
We wanted to book misono but that was fully booked. Our hotel then suggested Devon. We arrived the resturant at the time we booked. The chef was waiting for us downstairs. We didn't he was our chef until he cooked for us. The whole experience was positive. The beef was yummy. We ordered the chef rec...ommendation set. We all think that it is the best meal we have for the journey

“Great food and wonderful service”
Since we are holidaying in Osaka, we decided to ask our hotel to recommend an establishment that serves good and genuine Kobe beef. The hotel recommended Steak Devon to us. Had our dinner there tonight. No regrets. The oysters and scallops were done just right. Our steaks were cooked to our specific...ation. Medium well for my wife and medium rare for my son and myself. The waiters/chefs were courteous and the ambience cosy. After dinner our waiter/chef escorted us down to the lobby and offered to get us a taxi. He even walked us to the JR train station, a 5-min walk away, when we told him we planned to take a train to work out our dinner. Most impressed! Where can one gets service such as this?

“Good food and a reasonable price”
Our hotel recommended this restaurant and we decided to come ans try it. I must say, the kobe beef was done very nicely. Cooked to perfect medium rare and was melting in the mouth. When our chef/waiter cooked our rice. He tested and made sure our rice was cooked to perfection. Very highly recommende...d. As i was looking up for this restaurant on trip advisor, i noticed that their was a poor rating on the restaurant. After i read it. I found nothing, of what the user wrote, that the restaurant did wrong. A definite must try when in Osaka. :)

“Messy and Rushed”
We dined at this place based on the hotel's recommendation. The atmosphere was very pleasant. However as the meal progressed we felt utterly let down as we felt that the chef that cooked for us was not an experienced chef. We have dined in many fine teppanyaki restaurants, and for the price of 15000... to 20000 yen course dinner, we expected a much more experienced chef. The first course was seafood ( fish and scallop) was excellently prepared, however it went downhill after that. As the course progressed, the chef failed to clean the iron grill well before cooking and that affected the taste of the food. Its like cooking from a dirty wok. Food cooked from a dirty grill will definitely be oilier, and gunkier tasting. The freshness of the produce was masked by the gunk. There was a whole lot of teppan veggies which tasted very average-nothing better than a shopping mall food court teppan standard. Worse of all was the beef cuts. The kobe sirloin cuts were too thin and ended up overcooked for a medium rare. The other wagyu tenderloin cuts were also all odd shaped size bits of beef cuts which was again very odd as we would expect a proper steak cut. The chef was also very hurried, clumsy and nervous . Also while he was preparing the garlic fried rice, after seasoning with salt and pepper, he took the wok and scooped some into his hand and put it in his mouth, and wiped it off his apron, before serving the fried rice to us. I'm not sure how typical this is, perhaps he should already know how to season fried rice for 3 persons and not try it so blatantly in front of customers. He needs to be much more discreet if he had to try it out in front of the customers. All in all a very disappointing meal. Perhaps the more experienced chef which I suspected was the older 'waiter' would have done a much better job.
