“Good Japanese cuisine and service in Osaka”
Nestled in the 3rd floor of the Sheraton Miyako Osaka is the Uemachi restaurant - a tastefully decorated Japanese restaurant reminiscent of Muromachi era. Upon arrival, we were ushered to our private dining area and served with champagne as a welcome aperitif. We selected the Wagyu Fillet steak cour...se which was a 9-course meal, the highlight of which was the gilled fillet with accompanying grilled vegetable and salad. The meal was washed down with Ehime sake which was chosen from a wide selection listed in the alcohol menu. The food was sumptuous, the service was impeccable and the entire dining experience was unforgettable. Highly recommended for anyone wishing to have an enjoyable Japanese fare while in Osaka.

“Average”
Food good. Pricing expensive. Service average. For the first time in Japan we felt intimidated by the staff. Not sure whether it was a language issue but we were contentiously watched, The sushi and sashimi was excellent and the tempura very good. The lobster was disappointing.

“Summertime delight”
Had dinner with my son during the peak summer heat and was happy to indulge in cold somen noodles and sushi. The staff are always so warm and friendly, also very good with kids. Counter service is very attentive and it's always a pleasure to watch the sushi chef at work. Most of the staff don't spea...k English fluently but they try very hard to communicate. The head chef is famous in the kaiseki world and has received a national medal of honour. All the staff are great, always a good time.

“True Western 5 Star Hotel”
Best hotel of my trip so far. You could not want for any other amenities in the bathroom. Feels like a true 5 star experience. Short walk into main city. Plenty of fantastic restaurants to eat in around the hotel. Wish I could stay longer but on a tour. Will definitely be back.

“Amazing sushi”
They have a counter area where you can watch the sushi chef make your sushi and tempura. English is limited but where words fail, demonstration helps and the chefs are so friendly. There are no strict rules about how to eat sushi here, they said: "This is Osaka, just eat it how you enjoy it!" There ...are a few regulars who eat there and it feels like a local spot. Decor is lovely, very impressive stone and bamboo design. I would definitely eat there again.
