“Tasteless food in Kyoto”
Poor cooking, tasteless plates. The salad tasted literally like eating grass. Not so cheap either. The only thing good of the place was the view to the street (if you get it) and the kindness of the attendants. English menu available on the touchscreen.

“Fabulous vegetable choices”
We enjoyed our meal immensely at the Sepporai. The service was great. The tempura vegetable was amazing. Also the leak in miso sauce. Try the black soy bean and ice cream dessert. It is close to the Hotel Granvia Kyoto and the Kyoto rail station. We will be back.

“Really, if you want a great meal, fight your way to a seat at Sepporai”
I have been going to Sepporai for at least 3 -4 years -- whenever I can get a seat, that is. And, without a doubt, the quality of food is outstanding and always better than the last time. Sepporai is a vegetable restaurant - not vegetarian - but based on the incredibly fresh vegetables that are a ...staple of the Kyoto kitchen. It is typically Japanese -- you order small plates and you can share everything - most dishes are perfect for two. And the menu is entirely seasonal. So whatever is fresh and fabulous, you will be offered. I have had some of the most extraordinary kaiseki in kyoto, and I have eaten in Sepporai - you should put this place at the top of your list. If I could eat here every night I would.
