Shiawase-no Pankeki Kyoto

Awful. Simply horrible. More than 1 hour waiting for a piece of trash. Disgusted. Do not be fooled by instagram videos or tik toks because it doesn’t stand a chance. Eventually, we paid 29 euros for eggs (all you would taste out of this).

Tasty pancakes. The savoury pancakes were abit gritty( because of the whole meal flour) but still nice. Nicely done eggs in the bacon and egg and tomato pancake. The wine was too fruity-dry wine please.

I arrived 20 minutes before opening on a Saturday morning and was the first to arrive. However by opening time there were more people waiting than there were seats in the restaurant. They have a ticket machine at the front of the restaurant (up on the first floor or 2F) where you take a numbered tic...ket for an ordered entrance. You can also make a reservation online beforehand. All meals are made fresh to order and there are plenty of notices letting customers know that it takes about 20 minutes to make each order fresh. I had the banana, whipped cream and chocolate sauce Japanese pancakes. They looked amazing and tasted amazing, perfectly light and fluffy. Definitely 10 out of 10 for the food. And for those pancakes alone I would revisit. The restaurant is fairly small, approx 10 tables that seat either 2 or 4 people. Service was efficient. Ambience was lacking.

We arrived around 4 PM and waited about 15 minutes – not too bad. I had the tiramisu pancakes, which were super fluffy and light. Tasty, but not exceptional in my opinion. Still, a fun experience and the staff were very friendly.

The pancakes are absolutely yummy. However you do need to book in advance. This is child friendly and highchairs are supplief
