OUTBACK Umedaten

Had a great meal here, after 4 weeks in Japan out of 5 we wanted a juicy, tasty steak (plus the salad and side veggies tasted amazing after the lack of them for so many weeks). Have been to lots of Outback steakhouses in the US and they used to be our favourite but in recent years have been a bit h...it and miss. We have visited 2 in Japan, Tokyo Disney and the one here at Osaka and both have been superb quality and excellent service. They should send the Americans over here on their training courses. This is a lovely looking restaurant as well. A little difficult to find as it is in the basement of a high rise building but persevere and you will find it. We expected to find loads of Americans and Europeans but very busy with Japanese locals. Try and book if possible or ring if you cannot get in on line. Highly recommend.

While my other Outback Japan experiences were rather mid - this location was outstanding. Service was amazing as well as the food. They offer a lunch menu giving great values.

My husband and I visited this restaurant during our recent visit to Japan. As delicious as Japanese food is, we were both fancying a nice steak and a bit of a comfort food feast so I was excited to find an Outback about a 20 minute train ride away from our hotel. We have visited Outback steakhouses... in America before but we don't have them in the UK so this was a nice treat. The service was wonderful throughout our visit. Our server was Japanese/Canadian and spoke perfect English so communication was no problem at all. He was very friendly and a pleasure to have him as our server. If I remember correctly, I believe his name was Ricky. The restaurant was beautiful inside as well and a had a real lovely atmosphere. Now the main event - the food. Between us we tried the free bread, onion petals, fried prawns, ribs and rib eye steak (with Aussie fries). Everything was cooked perfectly and was absolutely delicious. If you're looking for a non Japanese feast whilst in Osaka then I would highly recommend a visit here.

Had an absolutely amazing rump steak, the best steak I have had in a long time! Staff were very friendly and attentive. Restaurant was very clean. Definately recommend.

Australian Steakhouse in Japan. The steaks were not tender and the fries quite ordinary. The service was not able to understand english. And on top the place was huge and almost empty. In short - it was a mistake to go there!
