“Best lunch”
I was looking for eel near Fushimi Inari and came across this restaurant. It was my first experience with charcoal-grilled eel, and it was wonderful. The service was excellent and I would like to visit again when I come back to Japan!

“Good unagi”
We had lunch at the newest Doikatsuman branch close to Yasaka Shrine. The eel dishes were good and I especially enjoyed the hitsumabushi item which is to enjoy the eel in 3 different ways.

“Poor service good food”
The grilled eel is of very good quality. The owner is nice, but the waitress is very rude. Still worth coming to try the eel if you don't care much about the service.

“Good Eel”
The Unagi (eel) was really fresh and the sauce they used was delicious. They have something that is called “Hitsumabushi,” which you can enjoy eel rice in three different ways: eel+rice, eel+rice+spice, and Ochazuke (rice with tea). I’ve never had Hitsumabushi before, so I tried it, and it was quite... good ;)
