“A meal that was the essence of spring, with warm service”
Despite the language barrier, the chef and host communicated through google translate and provided some of the warmest service of any of the omakase dinners we had the privilege to enjoy while visiting in Japan. In particular, the dishes were a celebration of spring, with many mountain foraged veget...ables and seasonal vegetables that were just at their peak, such as the young kinome tree bud, some kind of mountain asparagus-like vegetable, young fiddleheads, and different variations on very young bamboo shoots (and of course there was amazing, sashimi, shiraki, uni, firefly squid, and a truly delectable, silky beef in broth that stood out as well). Each dish and drink was served in beautiful bowls, small plates, or glasses that had clearly been custom chosen for each dish, ending with some of the most beautiful bowls for matcha I had encountered on this trip. Between the warm sake, service, company, and food, I was in the moment and neglected to take as many pictures as intended, but I also left the meal feeling light and not overly full and as equally impressed with the vegetables as with the fish and meats. One of the highlights of my entire time in Kyoto. Strongly recommended.

“Great food experience. Refined but also very strong essence of each ingredient.”
Great experience and delicious food. Full of umami accentuating the flavor of each high quality picked ingredient (also very interesting sake bottles!) Omakase menu is a food adventure. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to have a refined and exquisite dinner. One of the best I've had i...n Japan. Thank you Mr Fukushi.

“One of the best omakase experience in Kyoto! ”
One of the best Michelin one star dinner experience. The owner knows the food so well and explains every single ingredients. Compare to the omakase experience in Tokyo this one is definitely 10/10. I highly recommend this place to people who want to enjoy the Japanese seasoned ingredients and the ar...ts the chief puts on them :)

“Perfection from start to finish!”
Probably the best meal we have ever eaten. Perfection from start to finish, every dish was delicious and full of flavour. It is ran by a lovely couple who make you feel welcome and do their best to help you understand what you are eating. Highly recommended!
