“An enjoyable dining experience, even for non-vegans”
Our plates came with several varieties of food, such as soup, rice , pickles, vegetables, fried tofu products- they were all scrumptious. Presentation of the food was picture worthy. Would definitely dine again!

“10/10…great food, service snd music”
It was so good to find this vegan restaurant. In an area flooded with traditional Japanese meals, we were pleasant surprised to find this upstairs cafe. The food was unique and delicious, and there was lots of it. We really enjoyed spending an hour or so in this relaxed environment.

“Amazing Vegan Lunch Set and Parfaits!!”
I found this restaurant while looking for vegan parfaits. It’s located in the back of a store if you enter where we did, so don’t get confused you're in the right place! After finding the staircase, we took a number from a machine and waited for our number to appear on a tv screen. After a short wai...t, we were seated. It had a really cute “upscale brunch” vibe. The workers were all really friendly and they were happy to provide an English menu for us to order from. We both decided to get the set that included all three vegan mains, lattes and tiramisu and strawberry shortcake parfaits. The lattes were good, and generously poured. Each of our mains and side dishes were delicious. My favorite was the miso cutlet. The flavor was so good, and the texture was so greatI wouldn’t know I wasn’t eating fried fish. I really commend them on all of their dishes though and would happily eat this set again if I am back in Kyoto. The parfaits were both delicious! My partner ordered the strawberry shortcake. He couldn’t finish it, so I got the opportunity to finish it for him. It had cashews which went great with the frozen ice cream. It was light and refreshing. But the standout for me was the tiramisu I ordered. It satisfied my parfait dreams. It had a nice coffee flavor, great hazelnut tones and the actual tiramisu cake pieces were heavenly. If you're looking for great vegan parfaits, or a hearty brunch before a busy day of activities in Kyoto, I highly recommend this place!

“Vegan heaven”
I was SO happy to find the Mumokuteki cafe in Kyoto. A full Vegan cafe with some of the best vegan food I have ever tasted. The place is just above the store with really comfortable seating and just a nice relaxed vibe. The menu was extensive and even my meat eating partner found something delic...ious to eat. What I loved about the menu is it gives you the option to try a few smaller things and get a good idea of what is on offer. I ordered the Miso Cutlet Set which is a slice of okara konjac fried with flour and additive-free breadcrumbs. The crispy cutlet and sweet and rich miso sauce are well combined, and it goes well with rice. Also with miso soup and three kinds of side dishes supervised by the owner of "Kyoto Blanca". Washed down with the Soy Milk Chocolate shake this meal was perfection!

“Bright space, happy people and delicious food.”
Perfect spot to enjoy Japanese food prepared with locally sourced ingredients. Chi tea after lunch sealed the deal. Don’t let the shopping arcade 1st floor entrance scare you … upstairs is a magical place.
