CHARLIE'S VEGETABLE

Very nice teppanyaki restaurant in Matsuyama serving not only local vegetables but also delicious wagyu beef as well as fresh fish. The food is prepared on the hot plate in front of the counter by the chef who used to work at a French restaurant. We had one of the delicious menus and were lucky to g...et the very special and rare Matsutake mushroom. The owner Charlie is very friendly and speaks English very well. He made us feel very welcome. He served us a superb wine from Nappa Valley California. We highly recommend this fine restaurant!

We were lucky to find this hidden gem in Matsuyama. Location - Near the centre of town, down a quiet street between the main entertainment district and the Matsuyama Castle Ropeway Food - We paid 2000 yen for all you can eat salad and soup, a starter, a drink and a dessert. The food was excellent ...quality and fresh and the soup was delicious (honestly one of the best soups I've tatsed). It was great value. Staff - The service was excellent. The waitresses were constantly on hand to top up our water, replenish our soups or salad, and bring us the next course. The owner of the resturant spoke excellent English, was exceptionally kind and halpful and always had a smile. Environment - Clean, quiet, relaxing music and a view of a small garden outside. I went with my partner and my two children. Would be equally suitable for a couple or a family. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. You should totally try this resturant if you want a break from oil, meat and deep fried Japanese food.

Their vegetables are fresh, locally sourced and delicious! They also have very filing soup as well, so you will be stuffed. Maybe a little bit expensive for a buffet in Matsuyama, but good place to go when you feel like eating something healthy.
