“Good beef and sake selections.”
Had dinner here and was very pleased with the food and drink selections. The beef selections are Yamagata and Yonezawa and you can order a small portion of each. At times this restaurant offers four selections of Ju yon dai sake. Pricey and sweeter than in the past but at least give the 1,000 yen a ...glass a try. Service is very good using a call button and an English menu and a Japanese menu with lot's of pictures. This restaurant is a couple of long blocks from the Toyoko Inn and is just below the JR station exit. Would recommend a visit.

“Izakaya with English menu”
There's English menu here. But it's more fun to order from the Japanese menu with lots of photos. If you don't want to pick by dishes, there are courses available, such as the Yamagata Beef Steak set. The Yamagata Specialty set was also interesting and allows you to get a taste of local Yamagata cui...sines. The pork skewer with tomato was unforgettable. The Umeshu was also good.
