“Fun, atmospheric restaurant with good food”
We were brought here by a friend who lives here. The interior of the restaurant is decorated with traditional fixtures, and there is a mannequin of Sendai Shiro in the corner, a local historical figure who has been deified as a local kami of good luck. Food is great - try local Sendai fare like gyut...an (beef tongue) - they also make a dramatic show of cooking oysters, setting it on fire in a brazier. They also have an English menu to make it easier for foreigners, and are friendly and welcoming. When you leave, a staff member will do a traditional send-off by sparking flint stones behind you, as a good luck charm and protection.

“fun izakaya to visit with good food”
Bit difficult to find as the entry is through a rather small door that is not obvious. However, once you enter the restaurant it is vey spacious and lively. Food is fresh and sake selection is solid. They have an english menu, but it offers a fraction of what is on the Japanese menu so best to try y...ou best with that option if possible. Lots of specials as well.
