フィリップ・ミル 東京 （Philippe Mille Tokyo）

It’s a French restaurant that specializes in champagnes. Hands down this was probably our favorite French so far on this Tokyo trip after trying out 24 different fine dining courses around Tokyo. The atmosphere was incredible with very spacious seating, a nice view of the terrace with artfully tri...mmed olive trees, and nice view of the city at an elevation that gives you the view but also the energy. The service was impeccable, champagnes we ordered were wonderful, and everything from deconstructed tomato appetizer, caviar with egg covered in wine sauce, giant prawns with umami filled sauce, wagyu with shaved black truffle add-on, to the dessert and coffee were A+. Reservation fills up fast here so you’ll want to book atleast 1-2 weeks ahead!

We had our holiday party for a 16 people group in a private dining room. This is a very expensive restaurant with a highly decorated chef name on it. My expectations was very high! Room - The place setting was nice. - There was a commercial laundry rack for us to hang our coats by ourselves - ver...y tacky - inside the room, from my seat, that was my view , primarily. - the lighting was extremely strong & uncomfortable. No ambiance. - the decor inside the room was too simplistic and the room was ordinary. - lack of music. No atmosphere. - the private room had wood slats st the top of the wall, people outside could hear our noise. Not Private at all in my opinion. Food & Drink - the restaurant is famous for pairing expensive Champagnes with their cuisine. The selection of Champagne was amazing. - food, multiple courses, but the food quality and and taste was not amazing. For example, The foie gras was very creamy, but I swear I thought I saw veins in it. The Langoustine & smoked haddock smelled very fishy, I couldn’t eat it. - my biggest pet peeve was the servers, since the Champagne was flowing, it seems like, sometimes, they were removing the Champagne glasses to hastily before we had a chance to finish. They would promptly fill the new selection. The problem was, I could see them take the almost - half full glasses to a serving table just outside the private room and drinking the leftover expensive Champagne. That did not sit well with me. All in all, there are many great French restaurants in Tokyo, I will probably not go back to this one.

Beautiful setting in and at the terrace. Only one mistake happened throughout the full course menu, bringing all forks, spoons and knifes that will be used during the lunch. Etiquette please !!!
