“Disappointed”
We came with high expectations for Christmas lunch after having had excellent experiences at the Park Hyatt New York Grill. Admittedly the price at the French Kitchen is lower but we were not prepared for the difference in quality. Although the service was good, the surroundings pleasant, and the ch...ampagne lovely we were very disappointed by the mediocrity of the food. The 'charcuterie' tasted as if straight from a supermarket packet, the salmon was over cooked, the bouillabaise tepid, the goulash inedible. In short the lunch was very poor value. Only the potatoes were up to the standards one would expect of a major hotel.

“It’s lost the lustre and it’s not Covid19’s fault ”
It’s lost the lustre and cannot be blamed on COVID19 Visited for the first time after a few years, had some very good memories, spent many a Sunday at the “ The French Kitchen “ Great food, great laughter, great feeling buts it’s all gone now The food was mediocre to be honest The quality of ...food has gone downhill The variety of food was pretty awful to be frank It’s no longer the French kitchen I remember It’s definitely not worth the money ¥15,000 for two, I have had better moments at McDonald’s The staff are fabulous as always but considering everything and the lack of people the staff should have cleaned one of the tables and staff us on an open table not in the corner squashed against a wall, that was pretty bad showing Where as couples sat on tables for 4 yet only 2 guests with other free tables available Not only is the food awful as it’s not worth the money, taking all social distancing into account we could have been given a better table but then again that would not have saved the food or the experience I was looking forward to it but was supercalifragilisticexpialidociously disappointed 😔

“Crab festival: a cheap buffet at high cost”
What a very interesting buffet offer. A crab fest. Service was good and attentive at the beginning but felt less careful after a while. But most disenchantments was about the food offer. 2 buckets of cold crab legs, barely hot legs with melted butter and that’s all! There is other couple of cold dis...hes (salmon blinis, sea urchin mousse verrine, soup) and low quality hot dishes (mac’n chesse overcooked and paella with burned rice). For the 5 desserts, 2 was surprising good (apricot tart and berry entremet). Expectations were maybe to high but going for crab festival, I was looking for more crab food and also higher food quality with a such restaurant name. I felt cheated by the cost of the meal (almost 7,000¥). Not a good experience and I ate almost only the cold crab leg due to low quality of the other food. Better crab place in Tokyo and cheaper

“Ordinary hotel restaurant with poor service”
With few breakfast places available - Japan is not a "breakfast" sort of country - we wandered over to The French Kitchen and found it in the Grand Hyatt. The restaurant offers al la carte options for ¥1400 and up and a breakfast buffet for an eye-watering ¥3,700. The buffet is mostly western along ...with congee and a few Japanese selections such as miso soup, rice and fish. It is pretty ordinary and not what I would expect from the Hyatt. The service, though, was very poor. We ordered tea immediately upon being seated and asked again after about 10 minutes and again 5 minutes later. You couldn't get your own coffee or tea - they had to bring it and they were't bringing it. It wasn't easy to get the bill or to pay, either. The restaurant is clean and shiny and the food is nicely presented though not flavourful but with the high price and low service level I'd recommend going elsewhere.

“Scorching hot terrace seats. Incompetent staff...”
This restaurant is in a 5 star hotel so you would expect 5 star service and a bit of common sense to be employed but that was not the case when we visited. I went here to eat here with my wife, kids (5,7), and mother in law. We were walk-ins on the waiting list so they put us outside on the terrace.... The seats were scorching hot along with the silverware and we complained on numerous occasions. 1/2 through our meal the staff informed me that 2 of the outside umbrellas were broken so that’s why these seat were unshaded from the sun (They should NOT have made these seats available then). The plates were white and reflected in your eyes. We did NOT have an enjoyable meal at all and the restaurant is not cheap. The bill was (¥34,466/$307) for the 5 of us. A completely unacceptable experience. We left early it was so unbearable outside. My kids couldn’t take it. My iPhone even shut down due to the temperature. This not to mention you have to walk half way around the restaurant to even get your food for the buffet. The staff seemed pretty incompetent. The manager was absolutely useless as well. He gave us a canned apology but no refund. I will not be going back. There are far better brunch buffets in Tokyo.
