“Who knew that there were so many different kinds of sake?”
When we arrived, we were escorted to a private dining room. It had a traditional low table, but under the table was a recessed area for your legs, so it was a little like sitting in a chair. The floor was heated – which was really nice because it was very cool in March. The somelier was our server... and paired wonderful sakes with the courses, describing the wine, and showing us on a map where it was made. Dinner consisted of 10 courses that were as pleasing to look at as they were to taste. The pacing of the courses was just right. We had squid shashimi that melted in your mouth. It was all very good and the somelier was very accommodating in answering our questions. It is not inexpensive but you get a bespoke experience that makes it feel like money well spent.

“Stunning in every sense”
It’s hard to describe how much I recommend the kaiseki course here. From our arrival, the staff were polite and friendly - we were greeted and escorted to a private room with traditional tatami flooring and decor. The owner introduced herself and gave us the history of the restaurant, explained th...e meal order and left us with our server who was charming and a real pleasure to deal with throughout the course of the meal. Speaking of the meal itself was probably some of the best food I have ever had. We went for the vegan set and the chef did not disappoint. Every dish made the most of local and seasonal ingredients, with techniques that were clearly polished to an incredibly high level. After the meal, we relaxed for a bit in the room before paying and being seen off by the owner and her son, the chef. If you have the opportunity, you would be missing out if you did not visit here.

“If you’re searching Umami do not look any further (real deal traditional Japanese food experience)”
One of our best experiences in Japan. We went to the honten for our wedding anniversary. The chef and his family were extremely friendly and very welcoming. Each course was not only satisfying for our stomach but also a beautiful artwork for our eyes. If you’re looking for real japanese food experie...nce do not look any further. Very traditional japanese food. Everything is prepared absolutely delicately. We met also the son (also chef) of the masterchef. He obtained the halal certificate. We are so thankful for this experience. Arigato. Hope to come again.

“Lovely summer night dinning experience”
Lovely dinning experience! Both the hostess and the wait staff speak English well, and showed us the true Japanese hospitality from the very moment we walked in. The Kaiseki style the meal was tasty and beautifully presented . Turtle soup is their signature dish, and it's amazingly tasty!
