We booked this dinner months in advance through our hotel concierge and were really looking forward to the experience. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt off. The reception was cold, and there was little to no interaction from the staff. Despite being respectful and kind, we couldn’t s...hake the feeling that our presence wasn’t particularly welcome. It made the entire experience uncomfortable and difficult to enjoy. That was especially disappointing given how much we had invested into this trip and how excited we were to experience Japan’s food and hospitality. Instead, we left feeling uneasy and let down. It may have just been an off night, but based on our experience, I would say: if you’re visiting from abroad, be aware that your experience here may not match expectations.
