“What a dreadful place”
This place was truly dreadful. Recommended to us by the Hilton and their Concierge booked it for us and so we thought it must be OK. The menu was filthy, the wine undrinkable (literally), the food terrible. Worst of all, the staff were so rude and the service was none existent. They insisted that if... we wanted dessert we had to order it in advance and then they delivered dessert to our table before our main course. Then after just one bite of the main course, they delivered the check to the table and insisted that we pay it immediately. I asked if I could eat my main course first and they said NO! They almost dragged me to the till and after paying, literally closed the around us. We weren’t late and the restaurant was due to be open, they had just had enough for the day and wanted to go home. Other Hilton guests were inside and treated the same. I shall be writing to the Manager at Hilton as their recommending this place is doing some serious damage to their reputation!

“Absolutely Terrible, avoid at all costs!”
Not sure why the Hilton Tokyo recommend this restaurant, it’s the worst place we’ve eaten for as long as I can remember and we eat out a lot all over the world! The environment is lacking in atmosphere, the menu is not very Chinese, I can cook better Chinese food at home! The staff are terrible, so ...much so that at five to nine, we were told that there was no more orders being taken for drinks or food, this meant no dessert! Two minutes later whilst we were eating our main course the waiter left the bill on every table then approached our table and demanded we pay the bill! I wouldn’t give the place a second glance ever, within a 15 minute walk of the Hilton there are some amazing Japanese restaurants, Japanese being the only thing I would recommend! Stick with the locals, great food, always friendly and helpful with amazing food. China Doll, you’re not worthy of anything but a 1 star!

“Great food and good fun”
My wife and I were staying in the Tokyo Hilton, but decided to venture out for dinner. In fact, we loved the China Doll so much we came back a second time! The food is fantastic, but the best part is the buzzer that you get with your table. Press the buzzer and a waiter/waitress comes very quickly. ...We ordered a dish or 2 and a drink. Once we had that, we pressed the buzzer to order more. Great way not to over order, but a bit of fun at the same time. The food was mainly Chinese based, but also had Japanese food too. The staff were excellent and there was an English menu (plus some staff spoke some English). Friday night was great fun, seeing all the office workers come in to let their hair down! Worth a visit and much cheaper than eating in the large hotels,

“The worst wait staff ever”
We went in to eat on Dec 24 2018. My daughter has some Food allergies, she wanted to get a steamed chicken dish. Mentioned allergies to be safe, the waiter asked us to leave. Would not explain why. The place was empty. I am sure the unpleasant staff has something to do with it.

“Good value”
We had dinner here one evening during our visit to Tokyo. The food was very good and reasonably priced. The beer was half the price of that served in the city centre. We had a very pleasant evening and it was only a short walk back to our hotel (Hyatt Regency).
